ALBERTO GONZALES NAMED LAWYER OF THE YEAR

The magazine of the American Bar Association this week, has named Alberto Gonzales, Attorney of the year. In August of 2007 he resigned as Attorney General of the United States, because of controversies and allegations of perjury before congress.

There were many controversies under Gonzales's leadership:

Using the Patriot Act to uncover personal information about it's citizens.

Dismissal of seven US Attorneys

Right to Writ of Habeas Corpus in the US Constitution

NSA Domestic eavesdropping Program

Texas Youth Commission scandal that accused teachers, administrators and guards had sex with minor male inmates.
