The FBI says the amount of money swindled by Internet frauds doubled last year to about $560 million.
The FBI, in partnership with a private fraud-fighting group, reports that complaints of Internet scams rose 22 percent in 2009.
The most frequently reported scams were those that falsely used the FBI's name, accounting for 16 percent of the more than 300,000 complaints received last year. Authorities say another scam involved messages with a voice similar to President Barack Obama's, urging people to visit a Web site to claim a share of government stimulus cash. Visitors are charged a fee, and no money is ever received.

OBAMA TO MEET WITH DALI LAMA AT THE WHITE HOUSE
The White House Thursday said President Barack Obama would meet the Dalai Lama next week, sparking an immediate demand from Beijing for the withdrawal of the diplomatically explosive invitation.
Obama's meeting with the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader is sure to further strain increasingly testy US-China relations, as the president seeks to overcome Beijing's reluctance to place a choke hold of sanctions on Iran.
In one step apparently meant to mollify China, the February 18 talks will take place in the White House Map Room, not the symbolic surroundings of the Oval Office, where Obama normally meets foreign leaders and VIP guests.
Next week's meeting comes at a time when Sino-US relations have soured over the sale of a 6.4-billion-dollar package of US weapons to Taiwan, which Beijing regards as a Chinese territory to be reunified by force if necessary. Related article: China says it has 'no dissidents'
Obama also knows Chinese support is vital if he is to succeed in winning unanimous backing at the UN Security Council for the tough regime of sanctions he wants to impose on Iran for stepping up its suspect nuclear work.
The Dalai Lama, 74, fled his Tibet homeland to exile in India in 1959, after a failed uprising against Chinese rule. That came nine years after Chinese troops were sent to take control of the region.

FRANCE AND GERMANY HAVE REFUSED REQUESTS FOR MORE TROOPS.
President Barak Obama hoped that allies would match his troop surge. Britain has already offered an extra 500 troops and Italy has said it will send some, but Poland and other countries are waiting to see what happens in Afghanistan. The leaders want only to send police trainers and civilian aid experts.

PRESIDENT OBAMA : PUT THE HEALTH PLAN ONLINE !!!
I think the president should put the health plan online for everyone in the U S that wants to know if this plan follows the constitution. People out there are showing their ignorance by not knowing that social security and medicare are some form of socialized medicine.
One lady looked so foolish when she was questioned by the Hardball show about these topics and she didn't know. She didn't think that medi cal and social security should be abolished. She said her parents were nearing the age when they would be eligible for these programs.
If the president wants transparancy on the health plan, everyone should have a copy of it available to them so they do not have to depend on their represenative, who is probably looking at the same sound bites for cable shows.

IF SOMEONE CALLED YOU STUPID , WOULD YOU ACCEPT AN INVITE FOR A BEER PARTY AT THEIR HOME ??
Hell no, it wouldn't be me. I have too much pride in myself to fall for that. I think Gates and Obama are just trying to save face by doing this. I think Obama is trying to worm his way out of the whole situation. I think he will just be grinning and trying to put on a face like he is just a regular guy.
This incident is just leaving a bad taste in my mouth. It is really helping Gates with free publicity. He is making the rounds and plugging his latest book. I cringe every time I see this. Gates had a meltdown and he is trying to put on a happy face and trying to play the whole thing down.
The president didn't say a peep when U S Rep. Cynthia McKinney and 18 others were in an Israeli prison a few weeks ago. In fact it seems there was a media blackout. This beerfest will just be a photo op for the administration to flash all over the world.

ARE HMO'S ON THE WAY OUT ?
I think this is the case. They are running scared. Many people are out of work now. When I visited an HMO lately. They had a flyer that asked their members to come and make arrangements to pay their bill. They are losing their patients.
Many people were paying 500 to 600 a month for their health care. So I think that if they don't want to go with the government health plan, they will get a concierge doctor. The fee is around 1500 a year and you get a complete executive exam. And from then on, you pay as you go.
There was some grumbling among members of the HMO that you could not have any pre-existing problems, or they might drop you for any reason. A young woman in Glendale needed a transplant and her HMO denied her, and she died. Another man in San Bernardino needed a certain surgery and they denied him and he died. They later settled with his family.
Maybe that's why the event was planned for the Washington Post and staff members from the Obama Administration and some members of congress. I think the lobbyists were going to have access to these officials so they could help write the government health plan. So big business was still going to have a hand with all things with the Obama administration.
When the word got out the event was cancelled. So this is transparency !!

22,000 GREEN JOBS OUTSOURCED TO INDIA SINCE OBAMA TOOK OFFICE
President Barak Obama and his head green person, Van Jones, have a plan that will solve the green crises. 5 million new green-collar jobs that will stimulate the economy. The 2009 Green Outsourcing Report, annual industry study conducted by Brown-Wilson Group, found that they are outsourced to India.
The report surveyed 4,000 businesses around the world. US corporations have off shored more than 22,000 new green-collar jobs to India alone. Indian labor suppliers have invested in hardware,waste disposal, recycling, and eco-friendly buildings.

Miguel H. Diaz, an associate professor of theology at the college of St. Benedict and St. John's University in Collegeville, Minn., as the envoy to the Vatican.
Former Rep. Tim Roemer of Indiana, a Democrat who served on the Sept. 11 commission, was selected to be ambassador to New Delhi.
Charles Rivkin, a former homeland security advisor as ambassador to France.
John Roos, an Internet lawyer as a top diplomat to Japan.
These nominations will require confirmation by the senate.

IS SENATOR McCAIN SETTING A TRAP FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA
Senator John McCain is saying that President Obama should show some compassion for the protesters in Iran. It was he who a few months was singing the song "bomb,bomb, Iran".
He and other Republicans are trying to set the bait for President Barak Obama to come out with an iron hand and side with the protesters over the government of Iran. They did the same thing with President Carter and the Iran Hostages and also President Lyndon Johnson and the war in Vietnam.
They hounded President Carter so much that I think he didn't want a second term. He just wanted out of there. And President Johnson did not seek the re-election. They also hounded President Clinton about the Monica deal.
They just want things to go wrong so they can criticize the president.They are looking for a platform for their next person to run against the president. The president has enough on his plate with two wars going on. Also South Korea is a top priority.
I don't know who they will put up as an opponet against President Obama. Everyone they trot out is not going to win. I have not seen one person that I would vote for. They are all in the old guard.
If John McCain had spoken up then as he is speaking up now maybe he would be president. But he listened to the bigwigs in the party instead of going with his own gut feelings.

OBAMA DISSES FAT PEOPLE
Why is President Barak Obama dissing fat people ? He states " overweight people costs the nation's economy billions of dollars a year". Two-thirds of adults age 20 or over are overweight or obese.Thirty two percent of people are obese.
Talk show host Michael Savage advocates concentration camps for fat people. How can they be so cruel ? When New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson grew a beard upon withdrawing his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination , he said it was to "hide one of his chins"
Everyone cannot be of the same body composition as the president. Some people that are overweight feel perfectly healthy. But the president feels they are a drain on society and that's why our health costs are looming out of control. And he feels that obesity causes diabetes and numerous other diseases.

I am wondering where the library be ? Will it be in Hawaii, Kansas, or Illinois ? Will a place ever be big enough ? I think it might be one of the largest ever built for a president. He will have to store all the speeches he has done. In his first 100 days he has covered a lot of territory

DEMOCRATS IN AN UPROAR ABOUT LIMBAUGH'S COMMENT ON KENNEDY
Rush Limbaugh said "before it's all over, it'll be called the Ted Kennedy Memorial Health Care Bill". On his radio show, Limbaugh said President Barak Obama's proposed health care revisions will be championed by "the liberal lion Ted Kennedy".
It is so distasteful that he is talking like this.
