WILL US GOVT. PROCESS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS REFERRED BY ARIZONA !!

A top Department of Homeland Security official reportedly said his agency will not necessarily process illegal immigrants referred to them by Arizona authorities.
John Morton, assistant secretary of homeland security for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, made the comment during a meeting on Wednesday with the editorial board of the Chicago Tribune, the newspaper reports.

"I don't think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution," Morton told the newspaper.

The best way to reduce illegal immigration is through a comprehensive federal approach, he said, and not a patchwork of state laws.

MEXICO ISSUES ARIZONA TRAVEL ALERT

MEXICO CITY: The Mexican government has taken the unusual step of issuing a travel alert urging Mexicans working, studying or spending time in Arizona to use extreme caution.

The warning comes in response to the state's tough new immigration measures, which require people to carry proof of their legal right to be in the US and police to check for it.

The US President has asked the Justice Department to review whether the laws are constitutional. Barak Obama called them ''misguided'' and said he wanted more advice on their implications before deciding how to proceed.

The Homeland Security chief, Janet Napolitano, said Justice Department officials had ''deep concerns'' about the laws, which critics fear will encourage racial profiling and discrimination.

The Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, said the measure ''criminalises'' the largely social and economic phenomenon of migration. He warned it would damage long-standing economic, cultural and commercial ties between Mexico and Arizona.

The law ''opens the door to intolerance, to hatred, to discrimination and to abuse'', Mr Calderon said at a meeting of the Institute for Mexicans Abroad, which works on behalf of the millions of Mexicans who live outside the country. The institute called for boycotts of US Airways, whose headquarters are in Tempe, Arizona, and games played by the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team and the Phoenix Suns basketball team.

The head of Mr Calderon's conservative political party called for a moratorium on all trips to Arizona.

The Mexican Foreign Ministry, in issuing its travel alert, urged Mexicans in Arizona to steer clear of the pro- and anti-immigrant demonstrations that have been taking place in Arizona and to carry all migratory documents at all times.

US TO CHARGE ENTRY FEE FOR TRAVELERS ENTERING COUNTRY

Travelers to the US will be asked to pay a $11 dollar fee to fund a program to boost tourism. And to help the economy.

This fee will apply to the US "visa waiver" program that is mostly used by tourists and short-stay business travellers from 34 countries.

Details of this fee appeared in the Travel Promotion Act, which Barak Obama signed into law last week. This plan is expected to raise about half the funds for a $220 million global "Come to America" campaign.Travellers requiring a visa waiver will still be expected to apply before their travel dates to avoid being stopped from entering the US.

The US has had fewer overseas travellers every year since 9/11. A bank has not yet been found to handle processing the fees. The campaign will be administered by a private sector committee which will be overseen by the Department of Commerce in accord with the departments of State and Homeland Security.

HAITI JAILS RELIGIOUS GROUP FOR TAKING KIDS WITHOUT PAPERS

I am so thankful that Haiti has cracked down on people taking kids out of Haiti through the back door. Ten Americans were arrested on the border of Santo Domingo in a bus with 33 young Haitians ranging from the age of 2 months to 12 years. In their pockets were flyer's of a house with a swimming pool and promises of a life in the US.

They said there was an orphanage in Santo Domingo that they were taking them to when they had only rented hotel rooms. The religious organization was a part of the Southern Baptist Convention. The group said they had permission from a pastor , but the pastor is in the United States.

There are new guidelines in Haiti and it might take up to two years before all the children are put in a registry. This is to prevent child trafficking . And to find some of the kid's parents. The parents thought that their kids were going to a boarding school. One of the kids was crying and said that she was not an orphan.
Are there any people of color in Idaho ?

I hope that the UN will do a background investigation on these people and the Homeland Security will also. I don't believe they will let them go until they do a complete investigation. Some reports said that they would be made an example of.
