The drug is "PROPOFOL". Aetna said moderate sedation works just as well and does not require an anesthesiologist that can cost up to 1,000.
The doctors usually decides whether to use propofol or moderate sedation. April 1st is when the cut backs start. The doctors in New Jersey have not ruled out a law suit. Patients prefer propofol because of the few side effects.
Humana and Wellpoint is in step with Aetna, but United Healthcare covers propofol. Thousands of scans are being delayed. The reason is because a reactor in Canada is shut down. Over 50, 000Canadians are having delays in treatments.
The United States will not build a reactor so the radioactive materials are so dearly needed.
The nuclear society is looking for alternative tests.
